In our studio photography lighting course, participants are guided through the essential techniques and tools required to master lighting in a controlled environment.
The course begins with an introduction to different types of lighting equipment, such as softboxes, umbrellas, reflectors, and strobes. Sam will explain how each piece influences the overall look and feel of a photograph.
Throughout the session, students learn how to manipulate light sources to create different moods and effects, including hard and soft light, shadows, and highlights. They are taught the basics of three-point lighting—key light, fill light, and backlight—and how to position them to flatter subjects and bring depth to images. Hands-on practice is a key component, where participants set up and modify lighting setups for their chosen area of photography.
